If you are going to visit Singapore yet haven't got enough free money, you can think over and use some tips.
Using these tips you'll be able to spend 3 days in Singapore and save your money.
First of all, you should properly choose your accommodations. Better stay at one of the budget accommodations (from 10.00 USD per night).
The next problem - where to eat? Try to eat at hawker centers. These are food courts without air condition. Food here is very cheap and you can get a good and fresh meal and drink at 3.00 USD or a bit cheaper.
In spite of the fact that the taxi in Singapore is cheap, you should use public transport. It is very convenient and you will not pay more than 4 USD for a whole day pass.
We suggest the following three-day itinerary.
Day 1. Have breakfast at a hawker center. Then take a walking map from any of the Singapore visitor centers and choose one or two appropriate walks around the city. It may be Singapore River walk or Ethnic walk to one of the ethnic districts of Singapore. Visit Chinatown or Little India.
After that, visit one of the Singapore museums. It may be the Asian Civilization Museum, Singapore Art Museum or Singapore Philatelic Museum. You should bear in mind that the admission there is free on Friday evenings (6.00-9.00 pm).
The rest of the evening you can spend at Clark Quay or Boat Quay. There are a lot of riverfront restaurants and pubs where you'll have a good rest.
Day 2. Go to Sentosa. This is a beautiful resort island. If special promotions are available at the time of your visit, you will get a special package to visit most of the attractions at 40% discount. It will cost you about 35 USD.
If you want to spend your time on Sentosa absolutely free of charge, then explore it's three beaches. And in the evening you can see the musical fountains. Now you should buy a ticket for the performance, but is not expensive.
Day 3. Visit the Singapore Botanic Gardens. The entrance is free of charge except the Orchard Gardens. The ticket is cost 5.00 Singapore dollars. This is a paradise and you won't forget this place for a long time.
Then you can walk along Orchard Road, the main shopping district of Singapore. In the evening you can go to the Esplanade - the Singapore theatre at the Bay. They often give free performances.
I think that this idea of cheap visit to Singapore won't suit everyone. But why not to try?
