The interior of the two-storied Long Bar is inspired by Malayan plantation life in the 1920s. The deep rich green colours create the illusion of jungle. A sun-drenched verandah wraps around the Bar. The two levels are connected with a timber spiral staircase.
Forbes Magazine voted the Long Bar as one of the “World’s Best Hotel Bars”.
Singapore Sling is a cocktail for anybody looking for a nice cool drink on a hot tropical day.

Everybody agrees fully to the fact that the Singapore Sling was originally created by Mr. Ngiam Tong Boon for the Raffles Hotel in Singapore. However that is where the agreements end.
Nobody remembers the year of creation. It was created in the period of 1910-1915. Moreover, the original recipe was lost and forgotten sometime in the 1930's, and the drink that they currently serve at the hotel's Long Bar is based on memories of former bartenders, and some written notes that they were able to discover.
Originally, the Singapore Sling was meant as a woman’s drink hence the attractive pink colour.
Today everybody is enjoying the drink without which any visit to Raffles Hotel is incomplete.
