SINGAPORE: Raffles Hotel aims to raise some S$200,000 at its annual dinner and charity auction event this year.
Auction items include six pretty Christmas trees, sponsored luxury products and services such as Formula One Grand Prix tickets, timepieces and cruise packages.
All proceeds will go to the disadvantaged and needy, including two charities supported by the Community Chest – the Singapore Cheshire Home and Autism Children's Centre.
The third beneficiary is the Centre for Seniors, which is a voluntary welfare organisation founded by the NTUC Eldercare.
The event – to be held on Tuesday evening – will be attended by President S R Nathan and his wife.
