Singapore Medicines: Students pamper senior citizens with beauty therapy

SINGAPORE: As part of a community project, some elderly people have received beauty treatment and shoulder massages at the Institute of Technical Education College East.

The college's students, who came up with the idea to keep the elderly young in their later years, are members of NTUC's latest youth club, nEbO.

Chua Ka Wen, who started the beauty therapy course in January, said: "It's a good opportunity for us to use the skills that we've learnt in school for the elderly."

Most of the elderly were getting their first facial treatment.

And because they are in their golden years, their skin needs special attention such as the use of oil-based products that are suitable for sensitive skin.

Each facial session lasted between 45 minutes and an hour.
