SINGAPORE : According to CNA, tremors were felt in Singapore on 02 April 2008 , following an earthquake in Indonesia's Sumatra island.
Indonesia's meteorology office said the 6.1-magnitude struck at 3:48 pm (0848 GMT) and was centered 31 kilometres (19 miles) below the sea floor, 67 kilometres southeast of the city of Bengkulu.
There was no threat of a tsunami. The MediaCorp hotline received a few calls from residents in various parts of Singapore, who said they had felt tremors.
